Sam Fender and Olivia Dean have set a new benchmark in UK music history after Rein Me In became the longest-running Official Singles Chart Number 1 of all time. The hit has now accumulated 19 weeks at the summit across multiple runs, eclipsing Frankie Laine’s I Believe, which had held the record since 1953.

The song’s rise has been anything but straightforward. After its release in June 2025, it spent months climbing the charts before finally reaching the top in February 2026. Although several major releases briefly displaced it, Rein Me In repeatedly returned to Number 1, demonstrating exceptional popularity throughout the year.

The record-breaking run also saw the track overtake previous milestones held by Wet Wet Wet and Bryan Adams before ultimately surpassing Frankie Laine’s long-standing record.
